28 Weeks Pregnant
Well there I am, going into the 29th week of my fabulous pregnancy. How do I feel? Very top heavy, not to mention I woke up with horrible heart burn this morning...what is up with that new symptom???
I have hit that point in pregnancy where I feel so horrible that I need to compensate to make myself feel a little bit better. The emotions of my body changing so rapidly are very frightening to me. It doesn't matter how many people tell me that I "look great" because I am still battling myself with my new image. I don't think it helps either when people stare at me while I am out in public. So as one easy fix I bought new makeup. At least playing with it made me feel a little bit better. I have been doing my nails and my hair...and overall I am playing with my appearance more than I ever have. I don't know if this is a common pregnancy "symptom".
My "nesting" has also gotten out of control. But, in all fairness, I honestly believe it has more to do with moving than being pregnant. Slowly, areas in my house are being organized into little piles of stuff that I want packed in the same box. Yes movers, I am going to be THAT person. Even baby Zoë has a stockpile of stuff just hanging out in the middle of our guest room.
And what is in that stockpile? Not a whole lot my friends. It's been a real challenge to get prepared for a baby when we don't even know if we are going to get our stuff in Georgia before she makes her appearance. A lot of the essential items our parents are holding at their houses so we can pick them up before she comes, such as the carrier, stroller and crib. But what I do have are some clothes I have picked up on sale, a Bumbo seat I got off someone on craigslist for $20, and a baby bjorn for another $20 off craigslist. Not a whole lot which is kind of scary. I am sure we will be at Babies R Us while I am 39 weeks preggo waddling down the isles for stuff I need. Scary.
For all the mom's out there, how long was it before you had everything you needed for the arrival of new baby?

Crocheted Car Seat Blanket
I officially finished my first crochet project! It's a car seat blanket. The inspiration came from Pinterest of course. And that's also where I got the pattern from... (Click for pattern)
It looks a little bit different than the photo. I think it's because my car seat lacks a baby. The pattern was really simple because it only consisted of single crochets and double crochets and nothing too crazy going on. I was going to crochet Zoë in the blanket but I decided to not get too ahead of myself in the crocheting world.
Hopefully this is useful for us. I am not sure what the weather is like in Georgia, but at least she will be warm when coming home from the hospital now!
Just in case you want to see what mine is supposed to look like...
Not bad for an amateur.

27 Weeks
Well I am finally gaining weight and looking pretty plump. I don't know what I did between weeks 25-27 because this is what I looked like at week 25...
When people tell you, "you will wake up one day and be like 'Oh my! I blew up!". Those people are not lying. I knew I was getting bigger because I was sitting on the floor doing my makeup when I went to reach for something behind me and slowly toppled backwards. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, you should have seen me trying to get back up.
I am hardly starting to fit in a lot of my regular tee shirts now. It's really sad because I still have 13 weeks to go and I am realizing I have no clothes to wear. It looks like I will be living in dresses and tank tops for a little while until I can go out and buy some maternity shirts. It's just not something that is high on my priority list at the moment.
Now that I am reaching the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy my mind is even more baffled as to why there are people out there who LOVE being pregnant. I really can't understand it. It's like having an Alien inside of your body telling you how to feel and what to eat. I don't find that enjoyable at all. The only thing I have found enjoyable is when Zoë kicks me, because it's amusing.

Baby Zoë update
(21 weeks)
In the past month I have only had one doctors appointment. It was pretty routine and about 5 minutes long. It was brief, the doctor checked her heart beat and I got my stomach measured for the first time because I have a little bump going on now. This week I will be 24 weeks done!
Zoë has been pretty active, she is definitely a kicker. My husband got to take a week of leave to sort things out with the house and he actually got to feel her kicking and moving around in there. I also downloaded this app called "Baby Beats" on the iPhone and it's really neat! It allows you to hear your baby's heartbeat. I don't know how it works but it's pretty amazing.
I purchased a baby book that I am starting to doodle in and write little notes. I might make a scrapbook later on when we settle down in Georgia/Florida. I haven't really even bought anything yet for her. I did by this pretty awesome outfit from Carters...
Pretty much my two favorite things wrapped up in one...tutu's and cats. And how cute is that beanie?? This will be one of the first outfits she will be fashioned in. I know...I am a crazy cat woman.
I also got this...
Love the baby carriage for pandora.
So that's pretty much it for updates on the little Laccetti. Everything is going good, I feel great (thank goodness) and I am getting anxious and excited for her arrival.
