Baby update

Ahhhhh "The Bump" has arrived.  And as you can see Lou has a new best friend.  My cat has assumed the protective role over the last couple of months and loves to be around the bump.  I am excited that I will be finding out the gender next week!

Me: We are going to find out the gender! I am so excited, what do you want?
Husband: A baby.
Me: haha yeah, but do you have a preference?
Husband: Alive.

We already have names picked out, so now it's just a matter of knowing (and of course shopping).  I can't wait to get the baby book ready, I haven't decided if I am going to scrapbook or buy one that you just fill out the pages yet.

Today I had to go to the doctor because I started having Braxton Hicks, which is really unusual this early in the pregnancy.  Thankfully, everything was checked out and everything is normal.  My doctor said that it's normal for some people to contract early on because their body is having a hard time breaking through the muscle and your body has a lot more preparing to do for labor ( I hate writing that word because I am not looking forward to that part at all).  But, Shingles is cleared up and so has the morning sickness and I am now in a normal feeling stage which has been great.

What problems did you face in your pregnancy?

  1. First off congrats =) finding out the sex of the baby (in my opinion) is one of the funnest parts of pregnancy. With my 3rd pregnancy I had false labor way early on as well and since I'm one of those "run to the hospital!" about anything types I was constantly driving the 45 min to my doctors office. I did finally figure out the trick, once I started feeling them come on (mine were so bad they made me sick) I would lay in the bath. I actually pretty much lived in the bathtub the last 3 months of it but it kept the false labor at bay.
As far as labor goes, sure it's a scary thought and I'm not gonna lie it's no walk in the park. But (and this is no lie) the second they put your baby in your arms everything you just went through, all the pain disappears and it's like it never happened.

  2. We may be married to the same guy, because I'm pretty sure that's the EXACT response my husband would give me if asked those same questions.

I've never been pregnant and don't have kids, so I have no other words of wisdom. Good luck!
